Zi Wei decade cycles: palace age ranges and annual-age markers
Use one Zi Wei Dou Shu chart to distinguish ten-year palace ranges from recurring annual-age markers. See what the current Lingtai tool calculates and what it does not.
A Zi Wei decade field assigns a ten-year age range to one palace. The separate age list marks recurring ages associated with that palace; it is not a complete annual chart or annual transformation layer.

The worked chart uses 1 January 2026 at 08:00, male, Shanghai, longitude 121.5°E. Lingtai's current Zi Wei time summary applies a six-minute longitude correction and shows 08:06, still Chen hour. It does not include the equation of time or historical time-zone handling.
The resulting profile is Yin male, Water Two Bureau, with Life Palace at Shen and Body Palace at Chen. This is demonstration data, not a customer chart.

Follow the decade ranges palace by palace
In this fixed chart the first decade range is ages 2–11 in the Life Palace. The next ranges move through Siblings, Spouse, Children, Wealth, Health and Travel. A range belongs to the palace row where the tool displays it; it is not a second natal palace.
The starting age is chart-specific. Do not assume every Zi Wei chart begins its first decade at age two, and do not copy this sequence to another birth input.

Do not confuse recurring ages with an annual chart
The Life Palace row in this sample also lists ages 2, 14, 26 and 38; the Wealth row lists 10, 22, 34 and 46. These are recurring age markers separated by twelve years. They are not a fully calculated annual palace chart.
The current Lingtai Zi Wei request has no target year, so this guide should not promise annual transformations, annual stars or a selected year's event reading. Those require an additional annual calculation layer.

Add transformations only after the layer is identified
Natal transformations belong to the natal chart. Decade or annual transformations require their own source and time layer. A transformation name should never be moved from one layer to another just because the palace name matches.
Use the four-transformations guide for the vocabulary, but label whether a transformation is natal, decade or annual before interpreting it.
Treat decade timing as context, not a guarantee
A decade range can organize which palace theme is foregrounded in a traditional reading. It does not establish that a specific event must occur during those ten years, and a boundary birthday is not proof of an immediate life change.
Keep the natal chart, decade range and any later annual layer visibly separate. For a general chart-reading order, return to the Zi Wei chart guide and verify the palace data before adding interpretations.
